The Managing Team:

Mr. J. Fersht, CEO and principal shareholder of the company, started his involvement with reliability testing when joining JDS Optics Inc. in 1985.

For 12 years, Joseph developed the integrity and qualification testing facility at JDS Optics, later known as JDS Uniphase to qualify all JDS products to the Telcordia, JEDEC and Military standards.

In 1996, Mr. Fersht joined Innovative Fibers Inc., a fiber optic Bragg grating (FBG) design and production leader, which later became known as Alcatel Optronics Inc.

Acting as Director, Joseph continued over a period of  7 years to lead the development of various fiber optic components design work focusing on packaging, packaging process as well as providing key integrity and qualification testing for Fiber Bragg Grating components.  At the same time, Mr. Fersht was responsible for supporting Alcatel's large-scale fiber optic production line.

Deal strengthens Alcatel Optronics position in fast-growing passive components for next-generation DWDM networks Paris, France and Gatineau, Canada - 5 July 2000 - Alcatel Optronics, a world leader in opto-electronic components for telecommunications systems, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire privately held Innovative Fibers, Inc., the world leader in DWDM optical filters known as Fiber Bragg Grating technology (FBG)*. The deal signals the continued commitment of Alcatel Optronics to expand its activity in the fast growing domain of passive components for DWDM systems as well as in North America.

Mr. Fersht, during his tenure at these companies, contributed to many patents for component  packaging, process and integrity testing.
